WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER

There’s more than one way to begin.

Most people begin with weekly individual sessions and add other work over time, though some come to me specifically for breathwork, or for an intensive around something particular. If you're not certain which of these fits your situation, we can talk it through before you commit to anything.

WHERE TO BEGIN

A simple way to find your starting point.

If you're seeking deeper self-understanding, and you're not entirely sure where to begin

USUALLY

Individual therapy, weekly to start with. We can add other work later, once we have a clearer sense of what we're working with.

If you already understand the pattern well and it still hasn't shifted

OFTEN

An intensive session, or EMDR within our regular work. Both are suited to material that's already been identified.

If you've talked about this for years and would like a different way in

CONSIDER

A breathwork journey, on its own or alongside therapy. It reaches things that conversation sometimes doesn't.

Individual therapy

50 MINUTES
WEEKLY OR BIWEEKLY
VIRTUAL AND IN PERSON
INSURANCE OR PRIVATE PAY

55 MINUTES · $185 | 90 MINUTES · $275 | 120 MINUTES · $350

Where most people begin, and for many it turns out to be the whole of the work.

We spend the early sessions getting to know what brought you here, what you're hoping will be different, and how you tend to respond when you're under stress. After that the work follows you. Some clients spend a long stretch getting acquainted with their protective parts. Others move into EMDR once there's enough steadiness in place. A good many need time simply to practice staying with what they're feeling instead of moving away from it, which is harder than it sounds and worth the practice.

I'll be paying attention to your body while we talk, because the nervous system tends to hold information that hasn't reached language yet. In practice this is undramatic. It usually means I'll ask what you're noticing, or suggest we slow down for a moment and let something settle.

Most people start weekly and move to every other week as things ease. We'll keep checking whether the rhythm is still serving you.

THIS TENDS TO SUIT

  • People who want to understand a pattern, not only to manage around it

  • People curious about their body's responses to stress and emotion, even with no prior experience of that kind of work

  • People with some patience for a process that moves in circles before it moves forward

02

Intensive sessions

90 · 120 · 150 MINUTES
SINGLE OR SHORT SERIES
VIRTUAL AND IN PERSON
(RATE)

Longer sessions, for when fifty minutes keeps running out at the wrong moment.

Fifty minutes is a billing convention. It has very little to do with how long it actually takes to open something, work with it, and come back to yourself afterward. An intensive gives us the room to do all three in one sitting, with real time set aside at the end so that you leave settled rather than halfway through something.

These work well when there's something specific we're going toward, and they're often a good option for people whose schedules make a consistent weekly appointment unrealistic. They're less suited to starting from scratch, particularly if you're in the middle of a crisis or if we haven't yet built up much of a working relationship. I'd want to talk that through with you honestly before we booked anything.

Afterward most people want a quiet evening and an undemanding next day. We'll plan a follow-up so that nothing is left open.

THIS TENDS TO SUIT

  • People whose weekly session keeps ending just as something opens up

  • People working through one particular event or stuck place

  • People whose travel, work or capacity makes a weekly rhythm difficult to sustain

03

EMDR

WITHIN SESSION
OR INSIDE AN INTENSIVE
VIRTUAL AND IN PERSON
PACED BY YOU

A structured approach for memories that still arrive as though they were happening now.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing uses bilateral stimulation, which might be eye movements, gentle tapping or alternating sound, while you hold a memory in mind. The current understanding is that this allows the brain to finish processing something it wasn't able to complete at the time. The memory stays with you, and generally what changes is how much of your present it takes up.

We wouldn't begin here. There's preparation first, building your capacity to regulate and to come back to yourself, so that there's somewhere steady to stand when we open something. You set the pace throughout, and if you need to stop, that tells us something useful about where your system is rather than meaning the session has gone wrong.

THIS TENDS TO SUIT

  • People for whom a specific event still lands in the body as if it were present

  • People who understand something thoroughly and find it hasn't shifted

  • People who would rather have structure than open-ended exploration

04

Somatic & nervous system work

WOVEN THROUGHOUT
OR THE WHOLE FOCUS
VIRTUAL AND IN PERSON

Attention to what your body is doing, and to what it needs in order to settle.

Your nervous system was making assessments about safety long before you had language for any of it, and it carries on making them now. When those assessments were formed under real pressure, they tend to keep firing well after the pressure has passed, and understanding this intellectually rarely changes it on its own.

So we work with the system more directly. That means learning to notice the early signals, finding what genuinely helps you come down (which is often not what you've been told it should be), and gradually building the capacity to stay with a strong feeling without either flooding or going numb. This runs through everything else on this page, and for some people it becomes the main focus of our work.

THIS TENDS TO SUIT

  • People who go numb, or flood, and can't find much ground between the two

  • People whose bodies react well before they've consciously decided anything

  • People who've tried the standard regulation techniques and found they didn't take

Breathwork journeys

INDIVIDUAL AND SMALL GROUP
NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED

PRIVATE PAY
APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS · $250

Guided breathing as a way into material that talking hasn't managed to reach.

You lie down, I guide the pace, and there's music throughout. What surfaces varies a great deal from person to person and from session to session: heat, tingling, shaking, tears, laughter, waves of grief, sometimes a memory you'd forgotten you were carrying, and sometimes a stillness people tell me they haven't felt in years. Nothing is asked of you beyond continuing to breathe while I look after the rest.

This can be a standalone session, or something we turn to within our therapy work when we've come to the edge of what conversation is doing. I offer individual journeys throughout the year and small group journeys seasonally, sometimes outdoors.

THIS TENDS TO SUIT

  • People who can describe their pattern accurately and still can't seem to move it

  • People wanting a route in that doesn't run through language

  • People who are curious about it despite never having tried anything similar

Women's workshops & retreats

SEASONAL
SMALL GROUPS (minimum 6 people, max 10)
PRIVATE PAY
APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS · STARTING AT $600

Small seasonal gatherings, usually outdoors, built around breath and movement.

Some of this work goes better in company, and a good deal of it goes better outside. These gatherings draw on breath, movement, rest, and the natural cycles that most of us have been trained to push straight through. I talk about the seasons more than is strictly conventional for a therapist, and this is where that belongs.

There's something a nervous system takes in from a room full of other people that it can't quite learn alone, which is that everyone else is also shaking, also crying, and also perfectly all right afterward. Groups are kept small deliberately, and nobody is ever required to share anything.

THIS TENDS TO SUIT

  • Women moving through a transition who would like some company for it

  • People wanting breath and movement outside of a clinical setting

  • People who've been meaning to spend more time outdoors for a good while now

07

Clinical consultations

FOR CLINICIANS
INDIVIDUAL AND SMALL GROUPS

For therapists and other helping professionals.

Consultation for clinicians bringing somatic, IFS or breath-based approaches into their practice: how to pace this kind of work, where it tends to go sideways, and what to do when a client's system moves considerably faster than the protocol anticipated. I spent years practicing in a way that didn't feel like mine, and I'm glad to talk with anyone working out how to close that gap in their own practice.

It's also somewhere to set the weight down for a while. Holding other people's material as a job has a real cost, and clinicians are not especially good at admitting that to each other.

THIS TENDS TO SUIT

  • Clinicians trained in talk therapy who are adding body-based work

  • Clinicians who'd like a second mind on a case that's stuck

  • Clinicians who could use somewhere to be the one receiving support

One call, fifteen minutes,
no commitment.

We'll talk about what's going on and whether we're a good fit. If we are, I'll send your consent forms by email and check your insurance. Once your paperwork is back, you'll get a link for your first session.
